| Here's the deal. This is obviously my main character and I've got NO idea what to do with her here, so I'm bummed about the game. Instead of letting that keep me from RP all together, I've been screwing with her timeline on LJ. I want to do that here but don't know how it would be received. Basically, on LJ, a friend helped her out with the 'family issues' (family doesn't want time travel to exist, tried to kill her several times to stop her from screwing up). Well, that ended up severing the future timeline, meaning she has no past. I sort of wanted to fill this in as part of her past. I work hard on my characters, and hate to see it go to waste. Hundreds of hours of research and work have gone into Janie and her world this year alone. IDK I need to make them more accessable or something. Anyway, I probably shouldn't have posted this, but I'm annoyed (mostly with myself for letting one group of characters take 98.8% of my headspace.) | ||||||

| 1. What was your family like? Mama and Papa(really my aunt and uncle) were the best parents you could have I got in trouble a lot with them as a kid, but only because I was difficult. After I stopped with them... The family wasn't that great. I was always in trouble even after I started listening more. My Grandma was strict, my real Mother never around and Daddy left after something bad happened. 2. Who was your father, and what was he like? Robert Taylor is my father. He would always listen and he taught me a ton of things. He's from somewhere in the Caribbean and lives there now with his new family. 3. Who was your mother, and what was she like? My mother is Ella Mae Morton and she's a con artist and pawn shop owner. Mother is only 14 years older than me, and lives about ten minutes from where I stay with Vito. I can't stay with her. She's selfish and mean spirited, and when I get lost she acts like it's my fault. 4. What was your parents marriage like? Were they married? Did they remain married? Mother and Daddy were never married. They were together for a while before I was born, then afterward they broke up. Those two are so opposite I can't even see how they stayed together long enough to have me. Right before he left, they fought all the time. 5. What were your siblings names? What were they like? I don't have any real siblings, but Mama and Papa had a little boy, Franklin. He's was older than me and we'd always tease each other when we weren't playing hide and go seek or other games. 6. What's the worst thing one of your siblings ever did to you? What's the worst thing you've done to one of your siblings? He wished me away when I first started staying with him. I didn't come back to his family until I was about six. Worst thing I did to him was borrow his good pants to climb a tree in. I got a hole in them and Mama punished him for it. 7. When's the last time you saw any member of your family? Where are they now? I saw my Grandmother... in Nigeria. She's either here or there. 8. Did you ever meet any other family members? | 1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for? Janie wouldn't kill, unless it was a cut and dry case of self defense. She'd die for a friend or loved one. 2. Her time travel machine, which she depends on to keep her from getting lost. 6. What is their fondest memory? A mother figure singing her to sleep as a young child. 7. What is their worst memory? The last thing that happened to her before coming to LA 8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound. Her 'Grandmother', who she doesn't talk about often. The woman raised her from age eight, until her current age. 9. What do they believe makes a successful life? Hard work, sacrifice, persistence, religion 10. What makes them laugh? | OOC:Time travel info This section will be added to and tweaked, simply because the mun sucks at first drafts. At any point in time, only one Janie exists. As a time traveler, she will never meet any other versions of herself, because they are all the same person. She can travel to any point and time, as long as she knows when and where. If she travels without that knowledge, she'll end up in a random location. I use Quantum Entanglement to an extent for her time travel. (The mun is only using that as part of her theory as she learns more about quantum physics) The simple way I explain it, is that Janie can instantly 'bounce' from one time to the next. The natural or 'wild' travel is seemingly random. An organization of fifteen other time travelers was able to figure out how it linked to physics, and if they do the proper calculations and use a specialized machine, they are able to control where and when they travel. Janie is not an expert at this machine yet. The machine looks a lot like a cross between and i-phone and a graphing calculator. It works by entering an equation that corresponds to a time and location, and transporting anything attached to the machine to said time and location. It also has a camera, data port and contains the future equivalent of an electronic encyclopedia. Janie's device also contains games, a music player and a cell phone of sorts. If the device is lost, Janie's travel will be uncontrolled and she will constantly bounce from time to time. Destiny cannot be changed by any of the travelers. If attempted, the destined events will happen anyway. | ||||

| Name: Janie Louise Potts Ja'nee Taylor DOB: 5/15/1914 Place of Birth: Eatonville, Florida Parents: Robert Taylor, Ella Mae Morton Abilities: Time Travel, contract law and a little Quantum Physics Weaknesses: If injured, she heals and is able to be killed like a normal human. Time traveling with an injury does not increase healing time. She is extremely honorable and will stop at nothing to keep a promise. Short Biography: Ella Mae Morton was fourteen years old when she had Janie. She was unmarried and her family tried to hide her and the child from friends and neighbors. Ella claimed the father of the child was Robert Taylor, a man from up North who was on an extended visit, and who wanted to take her away to live in a better place. The family traveled up North, not heard from again until Janie was six months old, and ended up at home of Sarah and Alonzo Potts. A note was left in her basket, explaining that the family was coming on hard times and would fetch Janie when things were better. Franklin Potts was five years older than Janie when she came to live with the family. When she was sixteen months old, the young child wanted to get rid of his new sister and 'wished her into the swamp'. For three years he was afraid to tell his parents that, because young Janie had indeed disappeared. Janie, at that point, was in Coopers Town, The Commonwealth of the Bahamas, in a faster moving time stream. There she learned to speak French and lived with a family who was more than pleased to have a little girl. She then bounced back to Florida, three years later. She was older than she should have been, but Sarah and Alonzo noticed a family resemblance and happily accepted her back into the family. Rumors that her mother had done the same thing as a child were often whispered among family members, and Janie pretended not to notice. In 1923, the day Rosewood was burned, Janie traveled to 2009. After a bit of culture shock, she discovered she liked the time period. It soon became apparent that returning her to the people she considered family was not possible, and she prepared herself to live in the twenty-first century. Orishabi was able to find her, and took Janie to the compound where she was taught everything they thought she needed to know. Recently, she got permission to travel back to 2009, where she wants to make her own life, and leave Time Travel behind... forever. Recently, she found herself in the year 2000. Why is she here? No one knows for sure, but she wants to make a life for herself here. | ||||
